Busy
Yesterday I shared how I have a ton of excitement in my life.
I used to call it stress, but I feel much better now that I call it excitement. It sounds silly and perhaps it is, though it works.
Framing and Re-framing
The process is really framing or re-framing. Several studies can back it up in many applications.
💡 Reframing stress to excitement works; what about being busy?
'Busy' implies a loss of power and denies responsibility.
It feels like something that happens to you.
💥 What if, rather than being busy, you flipped it? Instead of being busy, you are making choices relative to your time.
Try this experiment.
📌 I am choosing to use my time in … or I have allocated a lot of time towards these activities.
This reframing empowers you to always be in control of allocating your time.
Great question. I am currently prioritizing what matters to me most at this time...freedom, grace, and growth being at the core. I am doing all the things I love in a very conscious creation-type way. Busy being on purpose.
I believe busy is a way for us to give up our responsibility to choose for ourselves. The job of being busy distracts from the work of being productive, and recognizing one's worth in life, no matter the fallout. Then you can get busy living.
