Shining Brightly
In the middle of our busy lives, it can be easy to forget a powerful truth.
There is only one of us in all of time and creation. This unique expression will never exist again through any other medium.
It feels like that is what the poet is telling us in verse.
WE TOO ARE SHINING BORN
by Gideon Heugh in Rumours of Light (Copyright © 2021 Gideon Heugh)
I've heard a rumour,
a whisper from a distant hallelujah,
a lonely breath of light from a long-forgotten star
brushing against the remnant of our aching hearts
to tell us something beautiful,
something scarcely believable:
we too are shining born, loved extravagantly
even as our soul-lights flicker
in the blast of an unkind world.
Even in the midst of fading evidence still, so I hear,
a finer and more honest imagination than ours
declares us bright, and worthy, and good.
🌀Reflection:
✨How would you live differently if you embraced the idea that you are “shining born” and “loved extravagantly?” Even while enduring the blasts of an unkind world.
✨Embracing the ideas in the poem, how might you live into being bright, and worthy, and good?
Love this David! 🙏
✨️Keep drinking in every sacred moment to the fullest extent possible & invite myself to laugh.more.often! 🤣
Ex. Lost 2 sets of housekeys, 2 consecutive days in a row during wintry dog walk 🤦♀️
Turns out even nimble ninjas crawling through the window in a cumbersome winter coat & snow pants are capable of tweaking their backs a bit sometimes 🤫
Life cooks up some brilliant detours from the best laid plans👩🍳🤌
Perhaps...the third times a charm and what about all the brilliant blessings along the way like the priceless winter moon/sunset whilst searching?🤷🏻♀️
For.sure ☺️...
"The soul would have no rainbows
If the eyes had no tears"...
And the heart...had no sunshine ❤️🔥
