How Do I Find My Ikigai?
It’s a question I’m asked every day. First, I describe the Ikigai journey as a process of uncovering rather than discovering.
Your Ikigai is already there.
There are some practical and tactical ways to begin uncovering your Ikigai. I love to share those and certainly utilize them in my coaching.
Often the most powerful uncovering moments come when someone describes their vision of Ikigai and provides an opportunity for reflection.
This is one of those 'descriptions,' and I am sharing it with you today.
“The purpose of life is to discover your gift; the work of life is to develop it, and the meaning of life is to give your gift away.” David Viscott
🌀Reflection:
📌 What does Viscott’s vision of the meaning of life say to you about the Ikigai journey?
📌 What would your life look like if you knew, developed, and then served others through using your gifts?
I love the last part, your purpose “is to give it away”. What a splendid way of walking thru the world
When I did my coach training we talked about getting Do, Have, Be in the right order. Most people work/do to make money to get the things they want/have so that they can reach their goal, to “Be”.
What I learned as a coach is that you need to figure out who you are first, and “Be”. From that you will find something to Do that is consistent with who you are, and from THAT you will get what you need.
And David I haven’t seen a post from you for a couple of days… Hope you are ok and doing well! ❤️
