David Marlow: [00:00:00] Here's your Ikigai Thought for Today: To Make Your Soul Grow. How exploring creative interests and activities sheds light on your Ikigai.
I want to share with you one of my favorite insights about the process of uncovering Ikigai. Here it is…
Your Ikigai is already there. Isn't that great? You can't mess it up or miss it.
You don't have to do anything to earn it. The only task is to uncover your Ikigai. And you do that by trying and doing things, learning a bit more about yourself.
I like what Kurt Vonnegut Jr. said about creativity, and I think it applies in this area. Here's what he said.
Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly. Not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming. To find out what's inside you. to make your soul grow.
Exploring these and [00:01:00] other activities for the sake of exploration helps reveal what's inside you and sheds light on your Ikigai.
🌀 Here's your reflection.
🌱 What could you explore that might help uncover a bit of your Ikigai today?
🌱 And the bonus insight, people often get stuck on the thing they should be doing instead of the things they should be exploring.
Quest well.
