Feeling Invisible
Was there ever a time in your life you felt invisible?
I have and sometimes still do.
My friend John Kuzava shared something recently that has occupied my mind every day since.
He speaks about feeling invisible, of not being seen.
“On the surface… not being seen doesn’t seem like a big deal…
Most of us got used to it as children when our parents couldn’t be bothered to look at us riding a bike with no hands… standing on our hands… or balancing ourselves while walking along a fence top…
We just gradually got the message… to not be a ‘show-off’… and also… not to be so needy…
So we took all of that and stored it somewhere… inside…
A metaphor for that is… ‘we boxed it up and put it in the basement…or attic...’
A lot of things are in those boxes… not just balancing tricks…
Those boxes contain your inner Pavorati… Jackie Robinson… Picasso… Amelia Erhardt… Elvis…”
There is only one of us in all of time and creation. This unique expression will never exist again through any other medium.
My interpretation of John’s idea is the boxes contain elements of our Ikigai. The beautiful gifts we’ve been given and the one-of-a-kind expression those gifts represent.
Get the boxes out of the attic. Dust them off and open them up.
The world needs what’s inside. The world needs you to live out your reason for being here in the first place.
You need to be ‘seen’—you need to live your Ikigai.

As you once said:
Each and every individual is a unique and one of a kind expression that will never happen again. If you don't live into your reason for being, it's never going to happen.
In all of eternity.
This was it.
One shot.
