Yesterday was all planned out.
My wife and I would get up early and travel to our daughter’s home to watch our new granddaughter while she and our son-in-law trained for a marathon.
As soon as they returned, we were to go together to the Wisconsin State Fair and meet our middle son and his family.
I had my Daily Ikigai message to you all set, and everything else was in order.
💥Turns out I messed up and sent Saturday and Sunday’s messages yesterday.
The baby was still asleep when they returned from the run, so we couldn’t ride together to the fair.
This was on the heels of being rained out the weekend before.
My wife has MS and needs a motorized scooter to get around at large events like a fair. Her battery unexpectedly died along the way.
I found an outlet in a building to charge the buggy battery while we found something to eat. We ran into an old friend we hadn’t seen in years as a result.
While waiting for our daughter’s family to arrive, a street magician set up shop near us, and our grandson and older granddaughter got to be part of a magic show.
A whole host of things did not go as planned, and yet, it will be a day I’ll always remember for how much I enjoyed it.
When you approach the day without judgment and embrace a level of acceptance, it is amazing how much peace comes into your life.
And fried cheese curds. Did I mention I enjoyed some fried cheese curds?
