In Stow-on-the-Wold, a market town in the UK, a local legend says J. R. R. Tolkien visited St. Edward’s Church, and this entrance inspired his Doors of Durin in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
In Tolkien's Elvish language, Sindarin, the word for door is "pend."
Imagine for a moment you are standing in front of this seemingly enchanted pend.
On the other side is an answer.
Ponder the pending answer.
What would you hope for if there could be any answer on the other side?

Speak, friend, and enter. One of my all time favourite books. Beautiful, David. I grew up in the Cotswolds and I have visited many of the beautiful churches there. I hope to visit this one some day.
Great exercise....answer would be to each of our mission to union with God and what that answer would be is the Truth in how we each get there every day closer and closer!
