One of my favorite ways to share about purpose is by relating the Ikigai Stories of others.
Connecting with people and their stories is one of the finest ways to Quest Well.
One way to connect with people’s stories is to look at them like uncharted lands.
Imagine each person as an entirely new world.
They are like new lands filled with vast untapped potential waiting to be discovered and understood.
💥 I love the idea of exploring another person like a new world.
One of the most profound gifts you can give another human being is to listen to them genuinely. I expanded that idea to include exploring and knowing them as a new world.
Listening at the deepest level embodies humility, curiosity, and the spirit of adventure. Think of it as being on a quest to know one another.
Quest is a beautiful word within the word question. As Elie Wiesel said, “We are all partners in a quest.”
That is why I’m launching Podquest.
Podquest will be rich conversations exploring the guests as uncharted lands.
Questing together we will gain insights into their lives and uncover ways to support our own quest.
In the first episode, I interview the fabulous James Breakwell, a comedy writer and author known for his Twitter account 'Exploding Unicorn' and a collection of seven diverse books.
The session begins by diving into his children's book titled, 'You Can't Be a Pterodactyl'’ discussing its connection to Ikigai.
James also shares his writing process, talks about his family life, maintaining work-life harmony, and how his writings integrate different aspects of his life. The discussion ends with advice for those wanting to pursue their passions and interests.
You’ll be able to find this and all future podcasts in the Podcast tab on the main page.
I can’t wait for you to get the chance to hear this splendid conversation and you can do so right here.
I returned from a pilgrimage to the sacred space that is Lake Atitlan yesterday and was delighted to find some of James' books AND The Little Book of Ikigai awaiting me on my doorstep when I returned thanks to you & this epic podcast David Marlow 🙏
