Purpose Over Profession
Purpose remains the beginning of Ikigai.

Since it is Saturday and many have had a full week of work, it seems appropriate to share this foundational idea.
I separate the deeper purpose you have as a human and the expression of it (profession, job, career) because your job or career is just that, an expression.
That is the power of purpose over profession.
Purpose is who and what we are here for; a profession is a demonstration of that purpose.
Professions, unfortunately, come and go. Our purpose and who we are in it doesn't go away.
When you begin to understand yourself more deeply, you realize your job isn’t the work you do; your job is being YOU.
The great news is no one can compete with you in being you. You are the world's best at it!
