Purpose Over Profession
Purpose remains the beginning of Ikigai.

One reason I separate the deeper purpose you have as a human and the expression of it (profession, job, career) is that your job or career is just that, an expression.
That is the power of purpose over profession.
Purpose is who and what we are here for, a profession is the manifestation of that purpose.
Professions, unfortunately, come and go but the purpose and who we are in it doesn't go away.
When you begin to understand yourself more deeply and link it to your Ikigai you start to realize your job, career, or product is YOU.
The great news is no one can compete with you in being you. You are the world's best at being you!
When I think about my profession, at the foundation, it is just being me.
It use to be in life and business that the phrase in Latin resonated with so-called successful people: veni vidi et vici (I came, I saw and I conquered) now seems to be more for forward-thinking people like: Veni, audivi, et iunctus sum (I came, I listened and I connected) is more in fashion and merged in there if a viable and virtuous connection being made is an altruistic Purpose!
