Years ago we watched a series of videos filmed on my daughter’s birthday, which happens to be in September. What wasn’t apparent to me until watching those videos was that on or about this time each year…I lose my voice.
It was weird: the day we brought her home from the hospital, my son was recording, and I was trying desperately to narrate and could barely speak. Her first birthday was the same thing. Year after year on my daughter’s birthday, my voice is scratchy or gone completely.
All that to say….it’s happened yet again.
Because of that, I’m sharing a simple reflection on making ripples today sans audio.
Enjoy!
"Ripples. When you create a difference in someone’s life, you not only impact their life, you impact everyone influenced by them throughout their entire lifetime. No act is ever too small. One by one, this is how to make an ocean rise."
Danielle Doby⠀
“There's something about the thousands of glittering lights, the veil of nighttime that almost makes this place beautiful, especially in the reflection of the water.
It makes everything askew, disoriented. There's more truth in a ripple of water than in a clear day.”
― Ellie Lieberman, Society's Foundlings
“The ripples of the kind heart are the highest blessings of the Universe.”
Amit Ray
“Your well-being affects (and is affected by) those waves
through small ripples of self-care and the decisions you make.”
Melissa Steginus
“There will always be ripples. The important thing is the stillness between the ripples.”
― Udayakumar DS, Life of a Sunset Kid
