When we share, with a view to inspiring what is inside another person, we break off a little piece of what makes us shine so it can coruscate in another. Like mirrors in a lighthouse, amplifying the candle.

I envision ones inner light from many perspectives and for me spiritually dominates the illustration because of my Faith. Having said that the analogy of the inner flame can be easy thought of as a pilot light for a home gas fireplace. The pilot light is always on in our house and my downstairs office...it costs a small amount to keep a small flame and if the power goes out at least we can light the fireplace and keep us all warm. The importance is to keep that flame lite for the right time just like the one in us. For many of us especially as we Catholics today is the start Lent (Ash Wednesday), and journey in the desert for ~40 days to cleanse our soul, it is the Holy Spirit that is that pilot light which comes on when we are called to act in a certain way for our better self and towards others...other beliefs or no belief we still have a similar desire to be ready for the unknown. The quest may be the same and that is awareness and preparation for engagement. Question may be do we strive to keep a flame burning even slightly (be our striving to our best self and prepared to help others) or risk it going out (and be little use to ourselves and others). Yes if it goes out we need to make sure to re-ignite it (and have good friends that may help us) and that may be more of our purpose, essence and desired harmony that keeps us focused and fruitful and have and be that friend that we all need! Peace and Joy!
