The Ikigai Journey is not some place we are going to but one we are creating.
" The paths are not to be found, but made,
and the activity of making them changes
both the maker and the destination.”
John Schaar
The paths to living our Ikigai are not to be found but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination.
Destination, in this case, is not a place per se.
One of the original meanings of destination was a purpose for which anything is intended or appointed. In that sense living our Ikigai is our destination.
It is also something we are creating. While our Ikigai is inside us, our expression of our Ikigai is being made as we explore, test, and try.
The journey to our full-blown understanding of our Ikigai changes both the path and the maker.
Insightful! Reminds me of Zig Ziglar’s quote “ What you get by reaching your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals”.
That aptly sums up what Ikigai is all about. The way, the seeking and the exploring itself is destination. You’re led purely by your inner Self and the deeper you delve, the closer you put yourself to finding the all-important answers to the questions of ‘who am I ?’ and ‘why am i here ?’
