Roborant
Considering the number of notes and comments I receive, many of you share my love of discovering new words.
Here’s a new one that sparked a reflection for me.
Roborant: rob·o·rant (rō-bər-ənt)-adj. meaning…having a strengthening or restorative effect.
Strengthening and Restoring
We can incorporate roborant rituals to restore and strengthen our energy, resolve, and motivation.
Here are some examples of a roborant ritual you can easily add to your day.
Walking-You know I love to run. Slow movement and awareness, especially in nature, are calming and restorative. Because of that, I also include walking in my routine.
Journaling - The act of writing down your thoughts and feelings helps process those feelings, lowers stress, and provides clarity.
Connection-Spending time with loved ones and or friends promotes emotional wellness.
Mindful Breathing- Being aware of your breathing is a stress-reduction technique that helps clear your mind. The best thing is you can do it anytime and anywhere.
Be present in something you enjoy-Find something you enjoy, like listening to music. Pay close attention to the songs. Instead of turning on some music and having it on in the background, focus on listening to the music.
The last one especially opens many opportunities.
Here’s another example.
I enjoy making my espresso in the morning. Slowing getting up, and turning on the machine, watching the beans bounce in the bin as they move to the grinder, seeing the crema form at the top of the coffee as it exits the machine.
Finishing with a lingering sip of that warm, bitter goodness, I’m present and experiencing the entire process.
It is calming and fun for me.
Find some things like that to add or experience in your day.
So inspiring for so many reasons> like the note on walking rather than running, like taking a train to a destination rather than a plane enjoying the moments along the way...each part of nature, it's lessons and it's beauty. There's a quote that comes to mind, enjoy the day my dear friend>
“Time's the king of men,
He's both their parent, and he is their grave,
And gives them what he will, not what they crave.” ― Shakespeare
