Enough
Here is your Thursday thought to ponder from T.S. Eliot
“To do the useful thing, to say the courageous thing, to contemplate the beautiful thing: that is enough for one man’s life.”
🌀 Reflection:
🌱 What is enough?
🌱 When are we enough?
🌱 When do we have enough?
🌱 When have we done enough?
What does breaking Eliot’s thoughts down to useful, courageous, and beautiful reveal about what we are called to do as human beings?
I've been searching for expressions to replace the urge to say "I've had it... / I can't take this anymore... / I'm sick and tired of..."
Maybe it should simply be - "enough" ?
And then, once we have felt that way and said it, do something useful. Have the courage to say the thing that needs to be said. Acknowledge one beautiful thing. And let it be enough.
I love how you help us reframe this stuff, David.
