Thank you. This is enlightening, as I sit here with my artifically sweetened instant tea. My diet has undergone a tremendous change, eating much the way they did 1,000 years ago. Gras-fed, organic beef. Pastured organic pork. Free-range chickens. Wild game and wild-caught fish. Fresh vegetables and fruits. Lately my diet has tended toward the carnivore side - only products from animals (meat, eggs, dairy, and raw honey). I have heard of the benefits of drinking more water/less artificial sweeteners. You may have convinced me to give up artificial drinks, and move to sun-brewed, honey sweetened tea and fruit infused water.
There was a huge difference in my weight and overall health when I dropped diet soda. It is exciting to hear about the changes you've made and the benefits you are seeing. If this additional idea is helpful all the better!
Thanks for posting. I have tried to live this principle most of my life. For example, I have a rule that I don't read books unless they are at least 100 years old. 100 is not a magic number, the principle is that what is truly great stands the test of time and is not fashioned by fads or "evolving truths". I have yet to find a leadership book that can instruct me better than the Bible. There is enough classical literature and poetry to read to last many lifetimes.
Excellent insight about consuming news 24/7.
And yes, water and coffee are old friends of mine!
The 100 year old book rule is an interesting one. Similar approach and a worthy addition to this principle. I agree about the leadership books and the Bible. It reminds me of a thought from Solomon. There is nothing new under the sun. Delighted you shared your thoughts today Jules.
