Why can't it still be a new box of crayons? I still love to color, although colored pencils are my most often used devices.

Or a new bike. I always think of a new bike in yerms of freedom.

It absolutely can be! My wife loves to doodle, draw and create. She gets new pens, pencils, markers and sometimes crayons. I like the bike idea. i haven't thought about a new bike in a long time.

Really a new box of crayons used to be a very exciting part of school life.

And the adult equivalent of a box of crayons for me, for the time being happens to be a variety of videos I can watch on YouTube.. inspirational, entertainment, educational, music, spiritual, interviews of authors and artists... ☺️

It has been a new box of crayons just because... or some new pens and notebooks. I always check out the crayon aisle. It's also a great way to spot innovation - washables, anyone? And then there were the metallic ones. I'm sure I'm missing the latest ones. Just yesterday I was drawing and organizing my thoughts with a blue marker.

Notebooks are a good addition. I enjoy buying a new notebook even though I don't always use them right away. Doodling and drawing is a great way to sort through ideas and organize thoughts. I may break out my notebook right now!
