Audio narration by David Marlow
An actual conversation at my house a while back…
Me: Don't you think it is interesting, E (our grandson) eats with his left hand all the time when he does so many other things right-handed.
Wife: Do I find it interesting? No.
Me: Why not?
Wife: You notice things like that, I just want him to eat.
I notice things like that and make mental connections to those observations all the time.
Though it produces ideas and innovations, I know it can drive other people crazy, even myself, at times.

I was working with my coach a while back and doing just that, connecting disparate thoughts and reconnecting them into ideas, basically going all over the place.
I said to my coach, “Now you know what my wife deals with a lot of the time.”
He replied, “David, my observation based on working with you is you were made to think this way, it is your gift and superpower. Embrace it.”
After my session, I shared this story with my wife, who promptly responded, “Give me your coach's number, I want to have a talk with him.”
Then we both laughed.

There are clues to your Ikigai revealed every day.
Look for them.
Interesting how we all see differently and how it affects relationships. I see connections on a big picture scale. My husband notices and recalls details. Often this works well as we can synthesise both points of view. But sometimes it's irritating when we talk about the same thing at cross purposes!
Loving this post. I’m a strong observer also.
Tho I might notice something unique, I don’t often share my curiosity with others. Their brains don’t work like that 😂
