Oh gosh, re-thinking the sitting next to you at Christmas idea after playing the audio version of this post. The combination of your voice and that obligatory glass of red is going to have me snoozing in no time - so restful!
Great thoughts....May the true Triune (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) God bless us all! When we ID the Creator are we indeed freed and know our prayers are not blown in the wind but the wind (Spiritus Sanctus) receives them and are carried to God. Quest well indeed ;)
Right before the pandemic I learned a different kind of loving-kindness meditation that I still practice to this day. It's more outward facing - gratitude for the things I've experienced that day or that I am grateful for continuing to possess. Like the ability to breathe healthfully, or some opportunity my children have faced when I thought there was a block. I find that this increases my self-respect and confidence, because it turns my thoughts away from scarcity, I sleep much more soundly, and I wake up ready to jump into the deep end of the world around me.
I’m living far away, slow traveling abroad — and this quiet act of kindness helps bridge the distance. It lessens the anxiety I carry about loved ones back in the U.S. and makes me feel like I’m showing up for them in a meaningful way, even from afar.
Thank you for this gentle reminder that presence can travel — through intention, words, and love.
Thanks for this reminder to be kind… I’m gathering as many ways as possible to help me be kind , in this very troubled world we live in… some days, a simple act of kindness to another is all I can think of to do! Blessings to you..
A simple and beautiful practice for those you love. Rather more challenging for those you don't 😌 Thanks for sharing, David!
"Rather more challenging for those you don't." Indeed. Start small. 🙏🏻
