Audio narration by David Marlow
It's been proven that when kids see themselves as 'heroic' they behave differently.
Their image of what a hero does guides their honesty, patience, and perseverance.
The same is true for adults, though our filters, built up over time, diminish the power of play. Let's try something together.
You, the everyday person you are right now, are a hero.
Think about it for a moment and tell me, what's your heroic superpower?
Not x-ray vision, something you are really good at. I'll share first to get us started.
My own superpower is the ability to improve anything. Individual, team, process, product, company. Whatever application, I have an innate ability to see a path to improvement.
Understanding my superpower helped lead me to a clear understanding of my Ikigai.
Quick side note: Having a superhero bobblehead like these my kids got me for Christmas a while back, isn’t required to understand your super power, but they do help. I think I need a new one with my Ikigai Guy goatee, don’t you?
🌀 Reflection:
⭐️ How about you?
⭐️ What's your superpower?
⭐️ What’s that telling you about your Ikigai?
Quest well!
I show up for people in a crisis. I'm good at taking care of all the things they aren't free to do, whether it's hospital paperwork or errands or laundry. I hate the existence of pain and will do alot to make whatever I can better.
Others are better than me at the slow patient work that's needed before and after the Moments. Takes all kinds to keep us going.
Superpower > ability to met people and bond fairly quickly to level the surfaces and get to talk frankly to learn more of the other and find ways to collaborate or at least pass on and move to another opportunity the better for it!
