LOVE this David...as I listened to your writing, the part of me that is obsessed with universally applicable things couldn't help but wonder if this is why children are so voraciously curious?! And then...curiosity showed up in this piece!
Would we as adults not have to spend time and effort unlearning actions like...not-empathy...IF our curiosity conduits were never stifled? 🤷♀️
The word that just fell out of me is “compowerism”.
In my mind it’s related to power and empower (giving power to), comprising (made up of) compromise (reaching an agreement with other things and people and situations), compersion (joy in the joy of others), co-power (another made up word of finding power with the help of others)
So..l. The blend of all of these brings me to a place where I am currently, empowering myself by finding the joy in other’s joy while I allow people to help me, to the degree I am made up of multitudes. Compowerism is a lovely way of accepting my physical limits for today.
