If only every car would have automatic emergency braking… years ago, our Cadillac STS was equipped with AEB and it literally was a life saver. Now new cars have it.
I'm still getting use to all the warnings on the new car I purchased a month ago. Lots of warnings and notifications. Then I get into my 24 year old PT cruiser; by comparison, it is like a primitive device.
I hate to contradict a lot of people, but I totally hated the Volvo commercial. For personal reasons, I imagine. I hate being manipulated with fear. Ever since I had my first child, I became a different person, so whenever I see a mother or a child in danger, I completely panic. That's what the commercial did for me. Also, I had to watch it twice to understand the woman wasn't the one driving the Volvo, but a random lady. To top it up, we had a Volvo, the worst car ever.
Anyway, I know my head thinks completely different than the rest.
On the other hand, I loved the story about the deer hunting. I went through a similar situation when we moved from Ontario (civilization) to Cape Breton Island (the middle of nowhere). We went from being against hunting to having a blind on our property.
I get what you are saying about the commercial. I often feel the same way. Also with news stories and what not. We are manipulated at every time. The thing I like about this one is the complete story nature of it. Connecting an idea to why it matters.
I also can’t watch any movie where the ‘family’ is harmed or in serious danger because of the main characters work or whatnot.
You totally got it. I love stories, and even more when you watch a story and your heart melts. No matter how cheesy or not it is. 🤣 In retrospect, I wouldn’t care about being manipulated as long as it doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable or anxious.
About the hunting, I don’t have one story, I could write a book! hahaha Maybe I’ll write some this week.
And also...I must declare that it has been my experience athat...you seem to have mastered the art...of sharing the best commercials in your writing 🥹🙏

Happy December folks! I love this read David as we embrace the word mysa during day 2 of severe winter weather here in NW PA! It reminds me of one of the things that make me feel most alive...when the fabric of life weaves together the most vibrant patterns between the most seemingly unrelated circumstances/things AND the harmony between grace & gravity.

You are most welcome my friend. And thank you for the kind words of encouragement.

That's a story I'll tell one of these days.
Thanks always for your lovely writing.
I’d love to hear the hunting story!
