Thank you. What a beautiful post; if you're thinking about a second book, there's so very much in that post.
I don't know that children are more truly attuned to their purpose in the conscious and individual way we talk about purpose. They are more present, less caught up in thoughts of past and future. And exquisitely attuned to what's expected of them from parents / family, whether they do it or oppose it, they're always relating to it.
Today's word has an opposite! Heimweh. Which I know, as I imagine many women do, from Little Women. It's the longing for home that Professor Bhaer feels. Home not just the place you're from, but the feeling of being at home, of belonging. Something I guess lots of people look for around the holidays.
In researching it I thought at first it was aligned with Hiraeth. I wasn't though perhaps Heimweh is similar.
Hiraeth is a sublime Welsh word that doesn’t easily translate into English. It encapsulates a feeling of deep longing, a yearning for a home, or a sense of belonging that may no longer exist or is lost.
It's a nostalgic emotion that goes beyond mere homesickness, reaching into the depths of our hearts, and connecting with a place, a time, or a piece of ourselves that we hold dear, even if it's elusive or no longer accessible.
Nice point on not being good at something and it being an advantage. Also the very thing would desire to appreciate coffee ☕️ later on.
Beautiful that there is a word for such deep feelings
Perhaps you'd enjoy reading the article I wrote on Hiraeth.

Your coffee making story, (or should we refer to it as the “great undoing” since it freed you?) brought a big smile to my face. Thank you.
And I hope that your hip improves.
