As we age, the things that take us down momentarily also serve as barriers to the things that keep us healthy, like running (or hockey, for me). This tends to prolong recovery and might become a slippery slope to further health declines.
I hope you experience a speedy recovery, my friend. Watch some Bugs in the meantime.
You transported me back in time to my childhood. I don't ever remember hearing the word 'sacroiliac' from Bugs Bunny. But then, my childhood was in Spanish and I imagine they would have just said 'a bone' or something like that when they translated Looney Toones into Spanish.
Thanks for a beautiful moment. I look forward to your Ikigai posts every Sunday!
Thank you as always for your beautiful reflections David! It reminds me of the humbling experience it was...to surrender to left hip pain that I would liken to what I recall clients of the past describing as "back labor"...which got triggered in a 2/13 yoga class (among other things) & took 3 months of chiropractics, a Grief & Resilience retreat to Sequoia Nat'l Park with Hope Yoga (couldn't even drive to the airport the night before I left...the pain was so present), an Art of Being Retreat to Kirpal Meditation & Ecology Center on the Big Island 🌺, and a few weeks into 9 months of Womb Healing Practitioner training (among other things) to mend. Our pain is a sacred guide as much as our joy. It can be such a challenge in the thick of it to fully receive what it has to teach us 🙏 Thank goodness for the gift of time as we receive the unfolding that is...trusting the process & the magic that awaits us not just on the other side...but along every.single.step. May your recovery be swift!
Where we focus changes everything. I so agree.

It is funny you mention watching Bugs Bunny as I have no idea where one can actually watch it these days.
I remember it being on DC Universe a while back, and I think it stayed on with the HBO / MAX content merge. I don't think it is anymore, tho. Sad...
