And I am reminded of what my dad used to say: when you get to the end of your rope, Diane tie a knot & hang on because that's when change will happen - within you.
“It is always darkest before it goes completely black” is my current view. I don’t see how the US is going to find a way through the mess Trump is creating. Next week Trump has said he will impose 25% tariffs on all Canadian exports to the US which will hurt US consumers at the same time as it hurts the Canadian economy. And, why? What is the policy objective other than causing mayhem or trying to subjugate a neighbour and (former, it seems) ally?
In addition to Nouwen, I am reminded of the admonition of Daisaku Ikeda.
"If you feel that there is no hope, then it is time that you create more." Let us all be creators of hope in whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.
Thank you. I needed it today. 🙏🏻
I'm glad it was here for you. 🙏🏻
See the silver lining in the cloud..always.
Always 🙏🏻

Though we sometimes wish it otherwise, this is the way. 🪢
