I really like how practically helpful this is! Application is key, and for that it needs to be practical in my experience! Love it!

I am starting to change my vocabulary immediately by telling you how much I love your article, as always (Oh...that's a good 'always'). 😉

What a wonderful post. It’s such fun listening to you read it as I follow along with the writing.

Are you making commercials these days? I thought I heard you voice in a commercial while I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts? I digress… should is one of those words I align with shit. Should is someone else’s emotion, and whoever would we act on that?!

And… (I guess I’m verbose today 🤭) you went to Cornell? Small world! I went to Wells College just up the lake a piece for my first two years.. transferred to Syracuse University for the last two. I love Upstate NY

It is welcome verbosity! I haven't done any commercials in a while though I spent many years in radio and television and then have done voice work and keynote speaking as well.

My daughter was all set to go to Syracuse for years then ended up in Minnesota and then Chicago for Law School. Always wondered how different her life would have been if she had spent time in NY.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement Teyani! 🙏🏻

I agree with you David and also of the power of YES. I try not to recommend too many books as you I have read many and still do on a normal basis. Although there's a book > The Little GOLD Book of YES attitude that was written by Jeffrey Gitomer (a real old time character) that rings home the power of YES attitude in our lives as a must to personal and professional growth. Not being a YES person...but opening ones mind to dreaming and openness!

Sounds like a solid recommendation. When I'm done with mine perhasp I can start reading again. 😉

Changing “or” to “and” - and “Don’t should on yourself” - good one David!

Word choice represents opportunity, both for ourself and it sends the message ofpossibilities that others may have open to them. I call these "notice words" when I'm working with teams to set up mentor and coaching programs.

As to "default", you and I have talked about that quite a bit. When I use it, I am usually referring to the initial median state something begins in and can be reset to. Neurological resilience, for example. When it comes to the language of our mind, I believe that if we keep sliding to what feels like a course of least resistance we can expect little in terms of growth.
